It feels a little weird to come of age so far from home. Hey, if anyone's listening- do birthdays make you feel awkward here, or is it just another year for you?

I'm not sure whether or not it's something to celebrate, but... still, it can be exciting, right?

[Contrary to the usual tradition of most people, Suki is in the Avatar kitchen today, trying to... make herself a cake. Or rather, a cake she can share with the family at dinner. She wants to know how to cook for her man, after all, and now that she's had a couple of cooking sessions with more experienced bakers, she thought it would be fun to try.

...Someone ~~KATARA HALP~~ should probably supervise, though, before she does something irreversibly unpleasant.]

[Suki hastily steps back to let Winry in once it occurs to her that she'd kind of jumped the gun there. She's a little excited, apparently- things in the Avatar world had been awfully busy, so birthdays weren't such a big deal the last year.]

Pretty good! Katara made a great breakfast, and we baked a cake. Since we've got plenty of dessert for dinner, why don't we have some of your pie now? [Because seriously it smells so good 8|]

Sure, if you want. You're not allergic to cinnamon are you?

Not at all! And it makes the pie smell great. [She turns and guides Winry into the kitchen, setting the pie on the counter.] I'm a little jealous. I'm not much of a cook at all...

Come on, you have other talents that I don't. And cooking is something you can easily learn by following directions.

That's true for everyone, though- you can work with metal like Sokka; that's not something I can see myself ever doing. [Grabbing a couple of plates, Suki goes about serving up the pie. ...Yep, smells even more tasty once the insides are visible, too.]

Yeah. You're good at fighting and protecting people, right? That's not something I would be doing.

Sounds like you don't really like fighting, then. [Hmmm... maybe she should scratch Winry off her list of potentials.]

[Nice derail there, Winry.] Me? It doesn't mean that much here, but I used to lead a group of female warriors on the island where I grew up. With the war going on, all we wanted was to stay out of danger, so we captured any suspicious strangers who visited.
