It feels a little weird to come of age so far from home. Hey, if anyone's listening- do birthdays make you feel awkward here, or is it just another year for you?

I'm not sure whether or not it's something to celebrate, but... still, it can be exciting, right?

[Contrary to the usual tradition of most people, Suki is in the Avatar kitchen today, trying to... make herself a cake. Or rather, a cake she can share with the family at dinner. She wants to know how to cook for her man, after all, and now that she's had a couple of cooking sessions with more experienced bakers, she thought it would be fun to try.

...Someone ~~KATARA HALP~~ should probably supervise, though, before she does something irreversibly unpleasant.]

That? Don't worry about it! It was just bad timing. Who knew that we'd be going to war the next day? [He takes her hand. He's going to lead her over to the couch where they can eat. Not quite a candlelit dinner at the table, but it will do. Especially seeing as it will probably start raining outside again.]

Uh, kind of? Not really. I mean, they were in freezer bags and I just had to reheat them in a pan. It's not that big of a deal. [He pulls up the platter and sets it between them. Hopefully she doesn't mind sharing what is, honestly, a rather lean meal for two growing teenagers.]

[She giggles a bit at that, though not with the intention to mock or anything. That's about all the cooking she can manage, so it wouldn't be fair to expect more from him. Especially since the flowers and the candles must have taken a ton of set-up, anyway.]

His rambles as always are amusing, but food is there to be eaten, and no one likes a cold dinner. ...Unless it's meant to be cold. ...Anyway, they make short work of it, awesome. It wasn't much, but hey, Suki didn't keep that nice stealth-warrior figure by pigging out on huge dinners anyway. Once they're done, she starts to grab the dishes to help clean up- it's the least she can do.]

Besides! I have to give you your present still. [You know, beyond the dinner and that sword from before.]

[....Bwuh.] You've given me plenty already, Sokka! ...Oh, wait! Did you finish the sword? [She really liked that sword, so the thought of getting it back is pretty awesome.]

[Well yes, he has finished it. But that's at the smithy.] Actually, what I want to give you is...

[He reaches over besides him, towards his bag and reaches inside. And then around. And then moves stuff about. Then turns away from Suki to dig even more.]

Yeah! The sword! It's finished. I have it at the smithy. We can pick it up before we go home tonight... or tomorrow. Whenever. You're going to love it.

That's a great idea! I bet there's a lot of girls around here who would like to learn someone! I mean, I know you don't usually teach outsiders... but it's not like anyone from home has to know.
