Well... now that the draft is over, I think it's a good time to do this. Because of all the fighting we have do while we're here, either by choice or by force, it's a good idea to have some understanding of combat in case of an emergency. From what I heard about this last battle, even the people who took refuge weren't able to stay out of the fight. We can't really afford to take chances like that anymore, and I'd like to do something about that- so I have a proposal for the girls of Luceti.

First of all, I'm Suki. I know I look young, but where I'm from, I lead a group of girls known as the Kyoshi Warriors. We're well-trained in combat, and the focus of our style is a mix of defense, stealth, and using our opponent's strength against them. Girls are often smaller and not as strong as men, and it's very important to never view that as a weakness.

None of my warriors are here right now, but I want to start the group here anyway. There's no age limit, no experience needed, you just have to be willing to listen and learn. If you'd like to join, or ask me questions, please, let me know, okay? And if you don't want to get involved in my group, Buffy runs a fighting school as well, and I'm sure there's plenty of great teachers willing to help there, too.

I just don't want to see anyone else get hurt if it can be avoided, so... I hope you'll all think about it.

Oh, that's perfect. Many of the girls in the group already use swords. Traditionally, Kyoshi Warrior weapons are fans and katanas, but I think we'll be expanding to add more weapons to the routine, since some of you already have experience.

[ ... did not expect that enthusiastic response. It warms Xion a little, and she gives a small smile. ]

That sounds good to me. [ A beat. ] Oh! Also, I can use magic. From my own world, and from working with the Filial spirits here. I use both when I fight all the time.

That's two, then... hmm. [Allow her a pause for thought.] I don't actually know much about magic- I haven't been able to use it yet, myself.

[Or more like she's had zero interest in including it in her training.]

... well ... if you wanted to, we could make it a trade. I could teach you magic while you teach me what the Kyoshi Warriors do. [ Her smile turns a little hesitant... but hopeful, too. ]

[.....Ah.]

I'd... have to think about it. But I don't need any kind of payment- just joining the group is plenty for me. It isn't a group without its members, after all.

Oh, it was just... [ Eh heh... she seems kind of embarrassed, now, and lowers her gaze. ] It was just if you wanted... anyway, it's not important. You're right! Um, when would we start?

I'd like to start soon, but that depends on how ready everyone feels. We'll probably take it slow from the start, since some of the newcomers don't have any combat experience. I'm planning to focus on hand-to-hand at first, though.

That's okay with me. Hand-to-hand is what I'd like to learn the most. Will you be letting us know when we start, then...?

I will! It shouldn't be too long. The sooner we all start learning, the sooner we'll improve, of course.
