Talking to a book just feels silly.

This is going to take a while to get used to, that's for sure. Oh, and this may be belated, but I do need to thank everyone who helped me out when I first arrived! Especially the author of that guide. I'd be asking so many more questions without that.

I do have one question, though... what does everyone do about the wings? Usually they don't bother me much, but it's hard to sleep with them. I never seem to rest well on my s- whoa!

[Suki is interrupted by a shrieking sound, and a sudden red flash over the journal's camera as she's divebombed. There's a moment of scuffling about.]

What in the- oh! ...Really? Let me see...

...Sokka? Someone's looking for you.


[So Suki can be found walking home from her trek around the lake, but she isn't coming home alone. She has a red-feathered bird on her arm, sitting all polite and pretty, but obviously somewhat unsettled. There's a message tube capsule on its back. Bother her?]

...Oh, I think I found some berries. Would he take that?

Probably. He was never all that picky. Just hold them out flat in your hand so he doesn't get a finger by accident.

[There's another minute or three while Suki tries that. When she finally returns, Hawky's perched on her arm.] Hey, it worked! He didn't even bite.

[ Voice ]

That's good! Sokka did say he was highly trained.

[ Voice ]

Looks like we'll have to find a spot for him, then. Are hawks supposed to stay inside or what? [N-never had a pet, sob.]

...you know, I don't know. We had him when we were camping out in the Fire Nation. [Not too many bird of prey in the South Pole either.]

[ Voice ]

I guess we'll have to let Sokka decide.

[ Voice ]

[Katara shrugs.] It can't be too hard to figure out. If he makes a mess inside, we'll make a home for him outside.

...and Sokka is cleaning up the mess.

Of course he is! It's Sokka's bird, after all.

You know, as long as we're giving Sokka jobs, I bet we could think up a few more for him.
